The Capital and the Food Capital
My last post was getting by July and gosh, we’re now nearing the end of September (time to wake Green Day up? :P). Time passes too fast I can’t keep up with flipping the calendars at home, least to say blogging on time each month. But the past month or so has been rather happening for me – two KL trips and a Penang trip.
First KL trip was for work and I got to meet my HOD plus other colleagues based in KL, though just a small percentage of the whole group. It feels so very different working in KL compared to Miri – most probably due to the 10x difference in scale, but it was a good experience overall and offered a glimpse of how KL worklife is like. Never know where God will place me one day, though I’m more than contented with working in Miri. On a side note, it was my first time having Hot seat on Air Asia and having a big hotel room to myself. Simply awesome. :D
Ippudo Ramen with the clowns after my first karaoke session of the year at Redbox! Miss our crazy karaoke marathons at Pearl City…
Spaghetti with garlic and salmon at Tokyo Pastry, Avenue K. Good stuff.
Hokkaido cupcakes by the hotel window after work.
Just a week after coming back from KL, it was the department trip to Penang! :) Malaysia’s food paradise lived up to its name, could only wish my tummy can take in more food and that I have more time to explore this UNESCO site. Georgetown boasts a rich collection of British and Chinese-influenced architecture from the olden days, not only the famous attractions but also other shops in the town area. It’s great to see that these are being preserved well and not being torn down to make way for modern skyscrapers despite the land area limitations.
At the White Coffee flagship store.

KL trip number 2 was a holiday trip, since both my dad and sis are there. It seemed like I ate almost as much as I did in Penang! Also aimed to do some decent shopping in KL this time round but ended up grabbing most of my buys only on the last day after checking out of hotel lol. Oh well, meeting friends beats scanning clothes racks and fishing for price tags.
The fountains at KLCC Lake Symphony are beautiful! Wanted to go back again but didn’t have time. Next trip!
