…because He is God.
Happy the man who does not lose faith in me. — Luke 7:23
In times of pain and tribulation, we often tend to ask the Lord why he allows us to be in such a situation, why let us experience such sufferings. Nevertheless, we should remember that God is in control of everything and He has good reasons for whatever that we cross path with. Life is always full of ups and downs but the process of it is what makes it meaningful and what helps us grow. From Psalms 34:18 reads, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Isn’t that such a good thing to know? That He’s actually just being with us right there in our hearts – a presence unseen but deeply felt. :) That He’ll gently lead you along the path of light as long as you entrust in Him. Jesus died on the cross for us sinners, what greater love could there be?
A little extract from my Journey of Prayer booklet!
St John the Baptist was imprisoned by his enemies; St John the Cross by his friends. Both learnt to put all their trust in the Lord. St John was imprisoned and subjected to brutal treatment. He received a weekly public lashing in front of his community and was kept in a dark, tiny cell. Throughout his dark time he clung with every fibre of his being to the Lord his God. He learnt in the dark night of his soul to trust in the Lord, who does not abandon his children. St John said, “In sorrow and suffering, go straight to God with confidence, and you will be strengthened, enlightened and instructed.” This is the consolation of faith which strengthens us in our hours of darkness.
Keep your heart in peace; let nothing in the world disturb you. So go serve our Lord and seek for the true joy! ;)
God’s complete knowledge and care in us. Lyrics are from Psalms 139! Linked it in case your bible is not within your reach and you’re feeling lazy to move. :P
